We are currently seeking nominations for the coveted Leonardo Award.  This honor has been bestowed in the past to marketing and business development professionals in the A/E/C community who embody the character and spirit of the renowned Leonardo da Vinci, a true Renaissance man who was accomplished as a painter, sculptor, inventor, and writer.  As da Vinci was considered a visionary amongst his peers, so are Leonardo Award recipients.

The 2022 Leonardo Award recipient will be selected through an open call process. We are extending the Call for Nominations to the community at-large, offering the opportunity for both self-generated and peer-generated nominations. These nominations will be vetted by the Leonardo Jury, which is comprised of a diverse cross-section of professionals within the industry, and they will create a short-list of nominees who will then be invited to submit a detailed Statement of Accomplishment.  We hope this “RFQ to RFP” process will entice greater interest and diversity in our pool of potential Leonardo candidates.

To be eligible for nomination, a candidate should demonstrate excellence and achievement in:

• Transforming their work environment
• Contributing through volunteerism
• Exhibiting continued commitment to education and learning
• Improving the practice of professional services marketing for the good of the A/E/C community, and the design and construction industry as a whole.

Nominees are not required to be current members of SMPS.  However, the nominee's history and track record with the organization is a significant portion of the evaluation criteria.

Nominations are due by March 1, 2022.

The process includes these milestone activities and dates:

• March 2, 2022 - Short-listed candidates will receive a request for a Statement of Accomplishment
• March 23, 2022 - Statement of Accomplishment due
• March 25, 2022 - Anticipated interview date
• Week of March 28, 2022 - Awardee is announced
• May 24, 2022- Awardee accepts the honor at the 37th Annual Leonardo Awards Banquet
